A penguin holding a knife stands above the caption “Flight Was Never an Option.” The black-and-cream bird, orange feet and small blade turn a flightless animal into an absurdly determined character.
The joke connects the penguin's inability to fly with a defiant response to the situation. It is an animal-meme design for people who enjoy a cute character paired with an unexpectedly confrontational attitude.
