Cat T-Shirt Design Index

A cat T-shirt design has more moving parts than the cat itself. Coat markings, garment color, lettering, print size and background all affect what you notice first. This journal looks at those choices one question at a time.
Start with the cat
Compare the silhouette, face, pose and coat pattern. A fluffy portrait may need fewer interior lines. A dark cat on black fabric may need an outline or a lighter shape behind it. Treat those as options to compare with the actual drawing.
Build the surrounding design
Choose a palette, typeface, layout and background that support the main idea. Then check the artwork at its intended print size and as a small product image. A detail that works in one view may disappear in the other.
Check the finished result
Print files, fabric, provider settings and mockup lighting belong in the same decision. We separate design suggestions from documented print results and measured tests. A preferred color combination is not proof of better sales.
